Two Bridges Urban Renewal Area

In the 1970s, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council partnered with Settlement Housing Fund to begin the development of the Two Bridges Urban Renewal Area. This formerly blighted area along the East River is bounded by Pike, South, Cherry, and Montgomery Streets.

During 25 years of planning and development, we built more than 1,500 units of affordable housing. Our projects include a condominium, a residence for senior citizens, the neighborhood's first supermarket, and a mixed-income housing project with apartments reserved for formerly homeless families.
