East River Waterfront Coalition

In January 2000, The Two Bridges Neighborhood Council convened a coalition to envision the development and revitalization of Lower Manhattan's East River waterfront. Through extensive dialogue with community members, city agencies, and elected officials, the Coalition produced a preliminary plan.

Over several years, the Waterfront Coalition-in partnership with other community organizations and Community Board #3-has been a vital part of the City's planning process for the design of the waterfront.

The Coalition seeks to improve access to the waterfront promenade, encourage recreational and educational use of the area, and promote the waterfront as a tourist destination for the benefit of local entrepreneurs.
